We had been happy with them for a few years, but when we had to buy a new house things went wrong. They thought we could only buy a house for the same price we sold our old one for. We did not understand this, and we therefore sought the assessment of other banks. We ended up with Nordea - they thought we could easily buy for 1 mil more than AL bank did. All bank didn't even bother to subsequently help us transfer some money from our account to Nordea, as the amounts were too high for us to handle in one go. Really bad customer service and advice.

Really bad treatment of customers by employees. Dd. my friend came home crying, she had had such a bad one experience with an employee of Arbedernes Landsbank. My friend received a new ATM card in the mail the day before yesterday and when she had to go to Helsingør today anyway, she went to the bank to get help activating the card. Personally, I myself have experienced the mentioned employee as very unwilling and almost as if you were an inconvenience - which you never experience in AL's other branches. Well, the friend asked if she could get help to activate the card - "Yes, it costs DKK 100." was the answer. As my friend was not aware that the new code for the card will only arrive in a few days and she could therefore not withdraw money. She asked if the employee could help her with money, but she could not. If one's bank cannot help when you have blocked your account where do you go then? I honestly think that such an unwilling employee should find another job, working in a bank is, after all, service work. Courtesy Jan Olsen, Helsinki.
