The stone in memory of the Helsingør historian Laurits Pedersen stands in Reberbaneparken at the corner of Claessensvej/Marienlyst Allé. The stone is originally Laurits Pedersen's gravestone from Boeslunde Kirkegård. Laurits Pedersen (1873-1940) is remembered today primarily as a Helsingør local historian. An entry in Lokalbibliography for Nordsjælland shows that he is the author of at least 35 books and journal articles about Helsinki affairs. His best-known work is "Helsingør in the Sundtoldstiden 1426-1857" Laurits Pedersen was a trained teacher and was employed by the school system in Helsingør in 1896. In 1917 he was appointed head teacher - a title that corresponds to inspector today - and led the Free School (Skolen i Marienlyst Alle) until he resigned in 1938.
