If you're looking for a genuine, non-touristy Danish culinary experience then this is the number one place to go. Hidden on Borgbjergsvej, the quiet main street of the worker's quarter of Sydhavn, you'll find this amazing butcher who also specializes in smørrebrød (Danish open-faced sandwiches). Even though I'm a vegetarian then walking into this unique delicacy and taking in the amazing smells of buttery, smoked mackerel, crackling, salads, ryebread, pickles, herring brings me straight back to my childhood memories. They have every old school, classic Danish delicacy here all made from scratch. The smells are simply unforgettable 😍

Unfortunately had a bad experience this afternoon. My husband wants to buy fresh-sliced ​​sausage rolls, cut very thin, and the young guy behind the counter simply refuses, I don't know if he thinks it's too much trouble or what, but it was a very strange experience.. He starts to discuss with my husband that what is already cut and packed is thin enough. My husband says ok to buy what is cut, but then the young guy can't figure out how to count to 16 and stands fiddling with the sausage roll. It ends with him picking his nose when my husband has to pay. Maybe the master butcher should have a chat with the young guy about customer care, because there was certainly none of that. And if you can't get freshly cut sausage rolls in the thickness you want, why go to the butcher? We have lived in Sydhavn for 10 years and were happy with the butcher, but this was a good practice experience!

If you come from Spain (or anywhere else) and want to try the best snacks in Denmark and at the best price, this is your place! They have the typical black bread with a great variety of ingredients on top, in addition to fresh products they are very abundant, you have to take them home and eat with a fork and knife because they don't fit in the bread! They also have very good meat, with the Danish cut that I like so much when cooking. The torreznos are from another planet! I find the staff very friendly and helpful, there are several girls who serve and they are fast. You can reserve your order and pick it up at a specific time or go to the store, see what they have and order. Specifically, we tried the black bread with potato, roast beef, bacon, fried fish, meatball and some more. Cinema! Coming to Copenhagen for so many years and I know him now, to kill me!

Always been a good butcher and certainly still is. But it's a shame that you can't buy 2 meals with hand-cut steak without pre-ordering them. It takes 2 minutes to clap together. We don't want the big cold table, just 2 dishes. Come again.... Have a good weekend and Merry Christmas.

If I were only to rate the mood and friendliness of the staff, it would have been max, but I have to rate everything: I mainly come to the butcher to buy pork belly. They are cheap, but unfortunately approx. 10% of the bag not good, as in soft the wrong way and/or tough. Some unfortunately so tough that they can't be eaten. Everything else seems to be good, people seem happy and the meatball I tasted was also good.
