I planned a day trip from København to Helsingør to visit Kronborg and spotted this restaurant as a highly rated spot in the town. I decided to book the early bird special because of the wonderful reviews. I can say, it definitely lives up to the strong score. The ingredients were fresh and every snack was extremely delicious. The anchor (??) fish abdomen tart and loin smoked in hay were so good: probably the best things I’ve ever eaten. The venison with artichoke was an explosion of flavour. The brioche was perhaps slightly “overdone” but this didn’t detract from the overall delight this meal was. It was also more than filling for me: no room for dessert even though I would absolutely love to try on another occasion if I ever find myself in this part of the world again. Service was friendly, atmosphere relaxed which suited me as a lone diner. Accommodated my intolerance of shellfish. Please do visit if you are in the area and appreciate considered, flavourful food. Reasonably priced for the overall experience. Highly recommend.

Where to begin? This meal was beyond lovely. Rarely do you have a multi course meal where every dish is a showstopper. We dined in late May and so many ingredients were in peak season. The ceviche with wild garlic and buttermilk sauce was stunning. The scallop with crab bisque was so so good. The bone marrow cherry glaze on the pork shoulder was like the climax of the meal that everything had been building towards. My wife and I just laughed when we tasted the dessert, how could it possibly be THAT good? The staff was so personable and attentive. A restaurant like this is a gem and should not be missed, not only if you’re in Helsingør, but also if you’re in Copenhagen.

The dining experience exceeded my expectations with incredible, fresh, and exceptionally tasty food. Each of the three items I ordered was a delightful treat for my taste buds. What impressed me further was the flexibility to choose from a variety of options at such a reasonable price. While the service could have been slightly improved, it's important to note that the restaurant appeared to be understaffed with only two servers handling the entire place. Despite this, the servers were friendly and prompt in their service. The fact that the establishment is family-owned added to the cozy atmosphere, making me feel right at home. I'm already looking forward to returning and exploring the rest of their enticing menu. No doubt that this place has highly rated reviews.
